Advice for Freshmen: Make the most of every day on campus! Take advantage of all the learning experiences you will have, both inside and outside the classroom. Branch out and take risks by registering for a variety of courses that sound interesting, meeting people with different interests and experiences than you, talking with your faculty outside of class time, joining a club or organization on campus, and exploring what the Macomb community has to offer. Best piece of advice...attend every single class! Being present, listening carefully, and actively engaging with your faculty and other students in your courses will be the best way to assure academic success!
Favorite WIU Memory: Living and working in residence halls with people who became life-long friends was a highlight of my WIU experience. Because of my work as an RA, I was able to cultivate a passion for working with students on a college campus and built a successful 43 year career as a university administrator and faculty member. To this day I am grateful for all I was able to learn at WIU and all the positive relationships with other students, staff, and faculty that have influenced my life.
Family Information/Special Interests and Hobbies: I have been married to John Titus since 1984. We have one son, Nathan Titus, who is a middle school social studies teacher. and lives in Champaign. Our family loves college sports, especially football. We also enjoy attending all sorts of theatre performances and classic rock concerts. We are excited about attending events at the new Goldfarb Center for Performing Arts opening on campus this fall!
