On March 31, at 10:45 p.m., non-student Donte Patterson, 31, of Chicago, IL was arrested during a traffic stop at the intersection of North Western Avenue and West Adams Street, on a warrant for contempt of court from Dupage County. In addition to the warrant, Patterson was also charged with driving without a valid license and obstruction of justice. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail pending bond.


On April 1, at 1:48 a.m., the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Thompson Hall and reports of smoke. The alarm was activated by smoke in a room. No injuries were reported.


On April 1, at 11:59 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance on the 11th floor of Washington Hall. WIU student Taniyah Smith, 19, of 806 Washington Hall, was issued a notice to appear on April 25, for a Macomb city ordinance violation of illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Smith and another WIU student were judicially referred for alcohol and behavior.


On April 2, at 2:31 a.m., officers responded to a report of fighting on the 14th floor of Thompson Hall. WIU student Uniqueka Sims 19, of 1433 Thompson Hall, was issued a notice to appear on May 30 for a Macomb city ordinance violation of illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.


On April 2, at 9:39 a.m., during a traffic stop at 900 W. Murray St., WIU student Kara Rogers, 21, of 609 Olson Hall, was ticketed for driving with suspended registration.
