WIU NOYCE Workshops

Each year, WIU will provide professional development workshops in STEM teaching and learning for Noyce scholars and area teachers.  These workshops are free and participants can earn up to 5 hours of PD credit while strengthening their content knowledge and gaining new ideas and activities for their math and science classrooms.  For more information please contact NOYCE@wiu.edu.    

Join Our Upcoming STEM Workshop: Active Learning and Data-Driven Assessment 

This workshop explores strategies for integrating the thinking classroom framework into the college STEM classroom. The thinking classroom framework is based on decades of published research and popularized in the book Building Thinking Classrooms by Peter LilJedahl. In this workshop, you will develop active learning strategies that promote collaboration among students and truly get students engaged and thinking deeply about the course material. Additionally, you will learn about alternative assessment practices that encourage students to take risks, and develop a growth mindset about their education.

  • 11:00 AM - 11:15 AM: Coffee break
