MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University in collaboration with Black Hawk Community College will host a WIU STEM Workshop from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, on the Macomb campus in Horrabin Hall, room 62.
This workshop invites WIU STEM Education students and in-service STEM educators from either middle school or high school levels to level up STEM teaching curriculums by participating in interactive sessions: engaging in hands-on activities and discussions led by experienced professors; networking with peers in the field; and gaining professional development by receiving five PD hours.
Attendees will learn to discover innovative methods to integrate probability, combinations and quantum mechanics into STEM lessons through real-world applications and gain hands-on strategies and interactive tools to engage students in abstract concepts while also connecting with peers to enhance teaching practices.
