Pei-I Wang to be Featured at WIU Guest Recital March 17

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present "The Legacy of Sergei Rachmaninoff," a guest recital featuring pianist Pei-I Wang, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 17, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Pei-I Wang is Coordinator of Keyboard Studies at Millikin University in Decatur. She serves as the Principal Keyboardist of the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra and the Acting Principal Keyboardist at the Illinois Symphony Orchestra.

This performance is open free to the public.

The program will include:

Piano Sonata in B-flat minor, No. 2, Op. 28 (1931) - Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943)
I. Allegro agitato
II. Non allegro - Lento
III. Allegro molto

Farewell Etude, Op. 55 (1993) - Tyzen Hsiao (1938-2015)

Warsaw Concerto in piano solo version (1941) - Richard Addinsell (1904-1977)/Henry Geehl (b. 1974)

INTERMISSION

Piano Sonata in D minor, No. 1, Op. 28 (1908) - Sergei Rachmaninoff
I. Allegro moderato
II. Lento
III. Allegro molto
