WIU Awards 2025-2026 President’s Scholarship to Delila Perez

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University (WIU) is proud to announce Delila Perez of Hoffman Estates, IL, as a 2025–2026 recipient of the President's Scholarship, awarded in conjunction with the AIM HIGH Western Commitment Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship provides full coverage of tuition, fees, a double residence hall room and a standard board plan for eight semesters.

Perez chose WIU after visiting during her freshman year of high school and immediately feeling a connection with the campus. The university's student-to-teacher ratio stood out to her, as she believed it would provide opportunities to build relationships with professors and peers before entering the workforce.

"The people and structure of the university were my deciding factors," Perez said. "I plan to pursue a degree in Elementary Education and stay involved in activities and clubs that I am passionate about, including the Westerettes Dance Team, Intramural Volleyball, Tri-Sigma Sorority, Casa Latina Cultural Center, The Women's Center and the Symphony Orchestra."

To qualify for the WIU President's Scholarship, students must first be awarded WIU's AIM HIGH Western Commitment Scholarship. Additional criteria include demonstrated volunteerism and community service.
