WIU Awards 2025-2026 President’s Scholarship to Charles Snyder

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University (WIU) is proud to announce Charles Snyder of Palos Heights, IL, as a 2025–2026 recipient of the President's Scholarship, awarded in conjunction with the AIM HIGH Western Commitment Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship provides full coverage of tuition, fees, a double residence hall room and a standard board plan for eight semesters.

For Snyder, affordability was a key factor in choosing WIU, as graduating debt-free was his top priority. He plans to major in Political Science with a pre-law focus and believes WIU's faculty will provide him with the foundation necessary for success in his future legal career. He encourages prospective students to engage with faculty and take a college course before making their university decision.

"I want to be involved in activities and clubs like Politics Club, Mock Trial Club, Crusaders for Inclusion, Peer Mediation, Art Club, Spanish Club and many more," Snyder said. "Following graduation, I plan to attend law school."

To qualify for the WIU President's Scholarship, students must first be awarded WIU's AIM HIGH Western Commitment Scholarship. Additional criteria include demonstrated volunteerism and community service.
