MACOMB, IL - - Meet Holly Galvin, a Western Illinois University Human Resource Management graduate, who accepted a position with Russell Construction, a company that provides construction and development services nationwide.
Galvin, who now works as a talent generalist, found the job opening on LinkedIn. After filling out an application and interviewing with four people, she received an offer for the position.
In her professional career, Galvin draws on everything she learned at WIU, especially the guidance received from Susan Stewart, a professor of the Human Resource Management program.
"Professor Susan Stewart prepared all of her students for interviews, but the classes themselves prepared me for the HR career, specifically benefits and leave administration classes!" Galvin said.
In the future, Galvin plans to stay involved with WIU by supporting and engaging with students.
"I plan to stay involved with WIU by supporting the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) student chapter with volunteering to chat with current students," Galvin said.
