Marian T. Swisher Obituary

MACOMB, IL - - Former Western Illinois University professor Marian T. Swisher passed away on May 24.
She joined the staff of WIU in 1978, where she taught many subjects and trained future home economics teachers. She chaired the Home Economics department for several years and retired from full-time teaching in 1998.
Swisher was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents, Clarence and Olivia Meyer, her brother, an infant daughter, son-in-law Blaine Robinson and grandson Robert Oxtoby.
She is survived by three children Annette Robinson, Warrensburg, MO, Scott Swisher (Melissa), Brainerd, MN and Sara (William) Oxtoby of Bellevue, NE, six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Alex) Meyer, Urbandale, IA, Matthew Robinson, Warrensburg, MO, Tyler (Sarah) Robinson, Kansas City, MO, Andrew (Elizabeth) Oxtoby, Omaha, NE, David Oxtoby, Bellevue, NE and Sam (Anna) Swisher, Minneapolis, MN and three great grandchildren Thomas, James and Benjamin Meyer of Urbandale, IA.
Swisher's life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 29 at the Wesley United Methodist Church of Macomb, with a visitation from noon-1 p.m.
