Just Hired! Through the experiences of local, regional, national and international students, Western Illinois University has some incredible alumni who are changing the world in the workforce. This series will feature students from all over the world who are hired post-graduation.

MACOMB, IL - - Meet Kennedy Morgan, a Western Illinois University Clinical/Community Mental Health graduate, who has been hired by Mental Health Centers of Western Illinois (MHCWI).

"MHCWI is a government agency that provides mental health services to rural communities, in addition to providing a residential facility for individuals with mental illnesses," Morgan said.

Morgan secured a full-time position after completing her internship as a graduate student.

During her time as a student, she not only gained valuable skills for success but also a resilient outlook that helped her excel in her field.

"I have learned to be a more resilient and effective leader while earning my degree at WIU," Morgan said. "I've experienced a lot of ups and downs and while at times I've wanted to give up, I've learned to be more than the negative experiences I've encountered. My experiences have allowed me to become a more compassionate and supportive therapist to my clients, which I will always be grateful for."

Now, as a proud alumna, Morgan plans to stay involved as a member of the Black Alumni Council and assist with upcoming events.
