James Keeney Obituary

MACOMB, IL - - Former Western Illinois University employee James Keeney, 82, of Macomb, passed away August 3.
Keeney, a 1965 graduate of WIU, worked at the University for 38 years, serving as the director of the University Union for 24 years and the director of Campus Recreation for six years before his retirement in 2004.
Keeney's leadership and dedication earned him numerous honors, including Outstanding WIU Administrator, WIU Community Service Award, United Way-YMCA Volunteer of the Year and the Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration Department Distinguished Service Award.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his devoted daughters, Jennifer (David) Ludwig of Geneva and Lisa Keeney-Albrecht of Bettendorf, IA; and his four grandchildren: Ava and Sadie Ludwig and Carson and Molly Albrecht. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, cousins and several special aunts and uncles.
