MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University Multicultural Center (MCC) will host the Welcome Back Bash from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 in the MCC Multipurpose Room. This year's theme, "Glowcade," invites new and returning students to dress in their brightest gear and enjoy an exciting fusion of music, dance and arcade games — all set under black lights and neon décor.

"We're excited to celebrate the start of the semester with our annual Welcome Back Bash," WIU MCC Director Katy Valentin said. "This engaging and inclusive celebration provides students, staff and faculty with the opportunity to socialize and build connections before classes begin. Let's glow crazy!"

This event is open free to all students.

The Welcome Back Bash kicks off the events at the Multicultural Center for the fall semester. Other upcoming events include the MCC's Fall Open House, Black Student Association's (BSA) Back to School BBQ, LGBT*QA Resource Center's Big Picture Picnic, Casa Latina's Latinx Heritage Day and the Women's Center Guided Paint & Sip. More upcoming events can be found at wiu.edu/leathernecklink.

The Multicultural Center houses the Casa Latina Cultural Center, Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center, LGBT*QA Resource Center and the Women's Center. The MCC aims to enhance the campus community's understanding and appreciation of all identities by offering identity-based student programming, events and leadership opportunities.
