WIU Named to 2025 Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Transfer Honor Roll
August 21, 2025

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL — Western Illinois University has been named to the 2025 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society Transfer Honor Roll, recognizing the University's ongoing commitment to supporting transfer students.
"We are honored to once again be named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Roll," WIU Associate Director of Admissions & Director of Transfer Services Kassie Daly said. "At Western Illinois University, we take pride in our transfer-friendly admissions practices, which make WIU an excellent destination for students completing their bachelor's degrees. This recognition highlights our continued commitment to supporting transfer students through streamlined credit evaluation, generous scholarship opportunities and financial aid resources."
The PTK Transfer Honor Roll recognizes 251 colleges and universities nationwide for the dynamic pathways they create to support transfer students. The honor roll is determined using 40 key metrics related to the support and success of transfer students, including college cost and financial aid, campus life, admissions practices and bachelor's degree completion.
The recognition is based on analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse and data submitted through the institution's PTK Connect profile, an online tool designed to help students identify colleges and career pathways. Colleges completing the profile receive a Transfer Friendliness Rating, with the Honor Roll awarded to those ranking in the top 25% nationally.
This year's Honor Roll institutions reported:
- An average of 56% of their undergraduate population as transfer students
- An average 75% bachelor's degree completion rate among transfer students
- An average of 81% of credits accepted toward a degree major and/or plan
- An average of 74% of transfer students receiving merit-based financial aid
"I'm proud of the transfer outcomes we're seeing at these Honor Roll colleges," Lynn Tincher-Ladner, president and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa, said. "These colleges are doing more than just opening doors—they're walking students through them. Their commitment to creating clear, supportive pathways demonstrates what's possible when student success is truly the priority."
