September 4, 2025

Just Hired! Through the experiences of local, regional, national and international students, Western Illinois University has some incredible alumni who are changing the world in the workforce. This series will feature students from all over the world who are hired post-graduation.
MACOMB, IL - - Meet Camille Husko, a Spring 2024 Western Illinois University social work graduate, who has been hired by the Regional Office of Education #26 (ROE) in Macomb.
In her position, Husko works with the Leading, Educating and Partnering in Schools (LEAP) program to build strong relationships and foster positive engagement with both eligible students and family.
"They not only offer academic and attendance support but also infuse social-emotional learning throughout the school day," Husko said.
Husko worked her way up to this position through her time on campus, with University Housing, the Beu Health Center and Student Recreation Center, and working at the local Y helped her feel prepared to take on her current position.
"I was a part of about 8 different organizations during my time, founding two, and serving several e-board positions," Husko said. "I also was the social work program student representative. I figured out what I liked from this. I switched my major, and overall just met a lot of different people!"
