Dean L. Halverson Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Former Western Illinois University professor Dean L. Halverson passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center.
Halverson joined WIU in 2002 as a Professor of Educational Leadership, where he taught graduate and doctoral courses, chaired dissertations, coordinated the doctoral program and delivered over 50 presentations at state and national conferences. He retired in 2018 with the title of professor emeritus, reflecting his lasting contributions to the university and the field of educational leadership.
Halverson is survived by his wife Carol, sons Scott (Bobbie) Halverson of Tarpon Springs, FL, and Brock (Megan) Halverson of Bettendorf, IA, four grandchildren, Dustin Halverson, Preston (Katie) Halverson, Graham Halverson and Emme Halverson, his great-granddaughter Ava Rose and two nephews and a niece, Jay (Sonya) Halverson, John (Paula) Halverson and Wendi (Bob) Cooksey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Todd, Trent and Reid Halverson and his brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Karen Halverson.
