WIU Multicultural Center to Host Business After Hours Mixer Event Nov. 19

MACOMB, IL - - The WIU Multicultural Center (MCC) will host a joint MCC Mixer and Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event from 4:30–6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19.

This special collaboration combines two popular community events into one evening of connection and engagement. The Business After Hours series gives Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce members an opportunity to network and strengthen community ties while visiting local organizations. The MCC Mixer invites WIU students, faculty and staff to meet one another and learn more about the programs and resources offered through the Multicultural Center.

"We're excited to bring together WIU and the greater Macomb community for this unique experience," said Katy Valentin, MCC Director. "This event highlights the importance of collaboration and provides a welcoming space for WIU students and community members to build meaningful relationships."

The event will feature free food, prizes and a cash bar. All WIU students, faculty and staff, as well as Chamber members are welcome to attend.

The Multicultural Center (MCC) aims to advance the goals of educational, social and cultural awareness by providing resources to enhance the campus community's understanding and appreciation of all identities. It houses the Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center, Casa Latina Cultural Center, the Women's Center and the LGBT*QA Resource Center, each offering unique programs and initiatives to support and celebrate the University's diverse community.
