Career Conversations 2026 Connects Students with Museum Industry Professionals

MOLINE/MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University-Quad Cities will host Career Conversations 2026, a free virtual event hosted by the Iowa Museum Association and sponsored by the WIU Museum Studies Graduate Program. The event starts at 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 9, over Zoom.

The event is designed to connect students and emerging professionals with peers who are actively working in the museum field, offering career path insights and networking opportunities.

This year panlists represent a diverse range of museum roles and institutions including:

Regyn Buffington, assistant Curator, Iowa Masonic Library and Museum
Addison Marsengill, Collection Manager of Ethnography, Indiana University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (IUMAA)
Anna Thomas, Youth and Community educator, Museum of Danish American
Clare Tobin, assistant director and Curator, German American Heritage Center and Museum

Registration is required to attend. Participants can register at go.wiu.edu/3NjTrdy or scan the QR code on the flyer. A Zoom link will be sent via email prior to the event.

Students in the Quad Cities area are also invited to attend a live stream party at the WIU Moline Campus from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., providing an opportunity to experience the event in a group setting.
