WIU Professor to Discuss Her Book on Native American Literature

MACOMB, IL - - Native American literary voices and the impact of American Indian thinking on interpreting literature will be the subject of a book talk by WIU professor Penelope Myrtle Kelsey, author of the recently published "Tribal Theory in Native American Literature." Kelsey, who is of Seneca descent and an assistant professor of English and journalism at WIU, will discuss her book at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16 in Taylor Hall, located at 121 South Randolph Street.
The event is sponsored by University Libraries, Western's English and journalism department, the Native American Indian Organization, the WIU Center for Regional Authors in University Archives and Kelsey's publisher, the University of Nebraska Press.
The event is open free to the public; refreshments will be provided and a book signing will follow.
