WIU Alum Joe Poulos to Give Keynote Speech at Journalism Day October 26

MACOMB, IL - -Western Illinois University alumnus Joe Poulos will be the keynote speaker at WIU's Journalism Day Wednesday, Oct 26.
Poulos' speech, "Public Relations: Preparing You for a Bright Future," is scheduled for 11 a.m. in the University Union Sandburg Theatre. He will explain the ins and outs of public relations (PR) and what promises it offers to potential college students. PR is one of many careers that a journalist can pursue.
Poulos, who graduated with a bachelors of arts degree in journalism in 1999, has been at Edleman since 2004. Previously, he worked for JP Morgan Chase and Ashton Partners. In 2002, PRWeek named Poulos as one of the top six young public relations professionals in the nation.
Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. with workshops starting at 10 a.m.
Journalism Day offers regional high school teachers and students, as well as WIU students, an informal workshop, a guest speaker and opportunity to take part in a question/answer session.
