- Location: Downtown Macomb
- Description: Western Illinois University is partnering with the Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Macomb, Spoon River College and the Macomb School District to host the Downtown Block Party from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in Chandler Park, just north of the Macomb Square.
The event will offer new and existing WIU students the opportunity to learn more about the Macomb community and feature live music, games, a petting zoo, a chicken lip eating contest and more.
Students are invited to use the GoWest transit between campus and the Macomb City Square. The bus will be labeled "Special Event" on the marquee and will start the route at the Lincoln/Washington residence halls. Stops will occur at:
Corbin/Olson Halls
Thompson Hall
Charles St./Elting St.
University Village
Charles St./Adams St.
City Center
