WIU Choral Masterworks Concert
Time: 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Location: COFAC Recital Hall
Description: This performance is free and open to the public and will be live-streamed on the School of Music's YouTube channel.

The program will feature two incredible works written by contemporary American composers, depicting the journey of darkness to light through compassion and peace.

The WIU Concert Choir, conducted by Jason Hawkins, with collaborative pianist Po-Chuan Chiang and faculty tenor soloist Terry Chasteen, will perform llluminare, Elaine Hagenberg’s first extended work; this edition for SATB chorus and piano.

The Western Illinois University Singers, conducted by Brian J. Winnie, with collaborative pianist Po-Chuan Chiang, faculty baritone soloist Nicholas Miguel, and student musicians George Pârvu, violin and Kieran McLain, cello, will perform GRAMMY-nominated composer Alex Berko’s Sacred Place, a piece commissioned by Craig Hella Johnson, artistic director of the award-winning professional choir, Conspirare.
